Product Description (Yaktrax Pro)
The Yaktrax Pro will give you the same solid, predictable grip you are accustomed to feeling on dry surfaces, and unlike other shoe traction devices, Yaktrax won't damage carpets or most flooring material.
When you walk or run with Yaktrax, the scientifically engineered horizontal and vertical coils place hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet. Yaktrax create a solid grip by way of our exclusive Skidlock coil system. As you step, each tiny Skidlock coil presses downward, becoming embedded into the ice below.
As you transfer your weight onto your foot, hundreds of Skidlock surfaces squeeze into the ice providing you with stability in all directions. When you lift your foot, the Skidlock coil system stays snugly with your shoe, offering unhindered ease of movement.
You will move about naturally. There's nothing new to learn, just walk as you normally would and experience stability on ice and snow like you have never felt before. The removable VELCRO™ performance strap will help keep your Yaktrax in place.

Great product for walking or hiking in icy conditions. The Yaktrak Pro is the Yaktrak you should buy if you plan to hike in these conditions, since the strap that goes over the top of your shoe keeps it in place.

For all you dog walkers these are a must! This is the second pair I have owned (first pair lasted 3 years) I would not be without them in the winter, they make walking in the snow and ice so much safer.

I cannot live with out my Yaktrax in the winter. I put these on and I can walk anywhere without fear of falling. I see people with them on in the canyons, mountains, and the dog parks in Salt Lake. They are very popular here.

I have used Yak Trax Pro's for 5 years and they are the best of the lightweight, removable traction grippers I have tried. I can walk with confidence on ice and snow pack where others fear to tread. They are a breeze to put on and take off, and the coiled steel springs won't mar the kitchen floor, cut the carpet, or track in snow if you need to make a trip back inside the house. The toe strap is worth the few extra bucks to make sure they don't come off on uneven terrain. They are light, durable, comfortable, and easy to carry and store. I keep a drawer full of them to give away or loan to friends for the day's outing--nobody slips when I'm around! Two "downsides" I have noticed are: 1. Forgetting to put them on and mis-reading the icy conditions--you could take a nasty fall on the same spot you have crossed a dozen times with ease when you are "Yakked up"! I keep a set right on my tennis shoes and leave them there for that quick trip outside. -- and 2. Watch out for tile floors. The solid grip on ice and packed snow suddenly reverses when you come inside and walk across tile. Luckily, it just takes a second to undo the strap, pop them off, and stash them in your jacket pocket. They don't interfere with driving, either. Well worth the money, you will not be disappointed!

Used the yaktrax on a weekend backpacking trip in the smokies. They worked well and felt comfortable to wear.
