Fire boots are a type of safety footwear specially designed to provide thermal and fire protection to firemen when putting out hazardous fires. Fire boots are generally made of waterproof leather or rubber that can resist high temperatures, and usually have a 20" to 26" high shaft. Fire boots also feature steel toe and insulating soles; which provide additional protection from compression, impact, electrical shock, and sole penetration to help reduce the risk of injury.
