While you might think "just fine" is manspeak for "ok" or, "sheesh ok I'll wear them" what it really means is they are great! My son is an understated man with very large feet, and wide as the day is long, always has been. The shoes are perfect, they fit well and are comfortable. Men do not have much of a choice in shoes when it comes to larger and wider. Two thumbs up.

I have a very high arched foot and these are the only shoes I wear around the house, year around. I have foot pain also, but once I put these shoes on, they do not hurt. This is the 3rd pair of high arch Birkenstocks I've bought..I hope they keep making this style for a long time.
Wears this shoe: Every day, around the house. The minute I get up I put them on.

I have worn the Birkenstock Arizona shoe for many yearsand love them. I sometimes get hill spurs and by wearing the Arizona shoes, it releives it every time.I highly recommend any style of Birkenstock shoes, butmy favorite is the Arizona.

I have always admired this style of the Birkenstock (my husband has a pair} but no one ever carried them in the narrow width, and I gave up even looking. They feel like a slipper. I haven't worn them outside yet. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and am sure I will feel the same about them then.

An interesting alternative

Been wearing Arizonas for decades, and was interested in Birkibuc as much for the price (and my own curiosity) as the ethics. Note that the sandals still have the traditional Birkenstock suede footbed; this is NOT a leather-free sandal.The straps are comfortable, with a felt-like feel that's quickly indistinguishable from traditional leather Birks. And Birkibuc straps aside, they are otherwise your usual Arizonas. Interested to see how well they wear over the next year, but so far (a few weeks in) so [very] good. The color's not my favorite -- I have the "mocha" -- but it's hard to believe how much more affordable they are than "real" Arizonas. Would buy them again, though maybe in a different shade.
