I already owned several pairs of Danner boots and decided to try the black GTX with side zipper. I wear a medium but these Danner's were a bit too snug. I was afraid there wouldn't be enough stretch and didn't want to risk it with boots this expensive. I returned them and had Shoebuy replace them with a wide pair. These fit much better and I'm expecting them to last a long time. The quality of the materials is first rate as is the craftsmanship. It's evident when looking them over or wearing them. I've only been wearing them off and on for a few weeks and will report back if any problems crop up. I also wear Danner TFX Hot boots and a couple different Wolverine styles so I don't usually wear the same boots on consecutive days. I was surprised to need a wide in this boot so you might want to try and find a pair locally and try them on before ordering. Shoebuy was great in handling the return and replacement but even when the process goes smoothly, it's still a hassle.

I love this shoe. I have an odd size shoe, 10.5 AA and this shoe is a treat to walk in. Great shoe. New Balance knows how to make comfort.

These are good quality shoes. The heel is high enough to look good w/pants and low enough to be comfortable. The insole is nicely padded. The elastic gussets aid in the comfort. I wear these to work. Would I walk the mall in them all day? No. Dressy shoe/boot that I think will last for many years.

With short, wide feet, I have to try on a lot of boots to find a winner. These are soft and flexible, and have enough heel to be stylish, but are still comfortable for all day wear. They're a versatile, basic style that I wear with dress pants as well as jeans. Love them!These also have a large zipper pull that makes them easy to zip.

These boots are comfortable and very warm. Got the impression from the other reviews that it would be best to order size bigger. I ordered the 8.5 and then ordered the size 8. This boot fits true to shoe size!
