Wellies, also known as wellingtons, are slip on boots often made of waterproof synthetic materials or water resistant leather and used for walking on muddy or wet surfaces and to protect the wearer in rainy conditions. Wellies often feature low heels with traction pattern rubber soles and uppers reaching just below the knee.

I purchased these boots to replace another pair exactly like them that I have had for nearly six years. I loved them, but the soles had finally worn down too far. The uppers were still in great shape though. I intended to have them resoled, but found out that would cost almost as much as replacing them. These are the first boots that I have been able to keep for more than six months without destroying. I walk with a slight twist in my step which quickly wears down most boot soles.I tried many brands before happening on these and within six months I had worn the soles down to expose the inner core or cutting the stitching that held them on. These soles are solid without stitching all the way through, so they survived. As far as comfort, they are kind of snug until they are broken in (several weeks)and seem heavy compared to other boots I have worn. I attribute this to the solid rubber soles, which to me is fine. People who are used to other brands of boots may find them to be heavy. As far as being well built, these are hands-down the toughest pull on boots I have ever seen. I am hard on them and they lasted me six years, and I fully expect the new pair to last six as well. Overall, extremely tough and high quality boots and highly recommended for those who are rough on shoes. I would not recommend them for someone who has never really worn boots.

Bought these boots for the sole, and the fact that they are pull-on, or engineer style and the sole of the boot is not an "agressive" or waffle syle, keeping the amount of mud and small stones out of the house, and the missus out of my hair.Took a couple of weeks to get them broken in to my liking, and seem to be holding up fairly well. Time will tell.

My daughter has this boot and I liked it so ordered a pair for myself. I just opened my box since I have been away for a month. My only problem is that my boot came with a scruff mark and a black mark by the ankle of one boot. I hate to return the boots but the irregularity bothers me.

I am new to the Ariat brand but have been absolutely impressed by the sheer quality with which it is designed and constructued. The boot feels genuinely true to size and the dulled leather finish looks great. The finish is a little bit darker than what is in the photo - but that suits me fine.
