I like the look of the boots the problem I had with them is one seems like a size 10 the other a size 10.5, way more than a size smaller than marked. I thought that they would stretch and didn't want to go through the hassle of having to return them so I thought I'd give it a shot wearing them, big mistake should have returned immediately. Very disappointed with width, someone with a size 11.5 does not have the width of a size 8 or 9 boot so cannot figure out how they made boots with this width and size on box. You need to review selling these boots and how they are sized.

These are very nice boots. Right out of the box they felt nice and soft. The leather is high quality. The materials are wonderful right down to the fact that even the welt is made from high quality leather. The top strap is much longer than shown in the picture and has to be tucked under itself.One thing about them is that, if you use insoles you will find that, contrary to other reviews, you do NOT want a half size smaller. I use thick insoles, and they were a bit tight. After they broke-in though they felt great. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is that within 3 weeks after they arrived the heel on the right boot has already started to peel off. I talked to shoebuy and they gave me a return label, and now I have to ship them back and wait to see if the warehouse department decides if the heel peeling off in less than a month is a defect or not. I am hoping that they will make good on them and send me a non-defective pair because other than this defective heel these are top notch boots.

The leather on the boot is super soft and comfortable. They will wear in nicely and look good with scuffs and stuff. The leather straps that wrap around your ankle seems weak and will rip/tear at some point and possibly need replacing.

I bought this mainly to wear when I got married. After putting them on I use them whenever I can. Right out of the box the leather is so soft that breaking in is a non-issue. I wore modern day tanker boots in the military and it took awhile to break them in. I should of listened when I read that it runs a half size larger. I compensated by putting padded insoles. That did the trick and since the boot doesn't have cushioning my feet will be happier that I did. Overall, great boot!
