These shoes are typical vasque quality and my daughter loves them. The lace clips on the other hand are the lowest quality I can imagine. So as long as you don't mind replacing it, I recommend these shoes.

I bought these shoes for my 12 year old son, who is all boy. We do a fair amount of hiking, and he needed a pair of shoes that would stand up to the punishment that he throws at them.
