A dual-density polyurethane midsole and patented kinetic insole make our premier backpacking boot incredibly comfortable without sacrificing support or stability.
An exclusive Vibram outsole, Gore-Tex lining, and molded hardware offer the ultimate in trail performance.
Includes 3-bar knit nylon lining, DryTech GORE-TEX footbed, Vibram Summit outsole and roller ball hardware.

This style tends to run large. For an accurate fit we recommend purchasing a 1/2 size smaller than you typically purchase. For example, if you normally purchase a size 7 1/2, we recommend purchasing a size 7.

These Boots Were Made For Walking

Wow, this Vasque boot really rocks! I had a pair of Vasque boots about 10 years ago, and these are just as comfortable as those were. These boots are specified for backpacking but lightweight hiking is all my husband and I do. I bought these for the support because I have flat feet. These boots are great for orthotic shoe inserts. The boots seemed hard when I first put them on, but the soles make them feel somewhat soft when you walk. I have gone on a couple short hikes with these shoes but you usualy know how a boot will do after just a little time in them. The leather scuffs somewhat easily, but that is just part of hiking. I am a hard fit when it comes to shoes, but these are simply marvelous.

I bought this boot because it is the only Sundowner made for women anymore. I buy Sundowners because they come in wide widths, are made well, and don't have seams that can split. Break in time was normal, (a week or two) and I have no problems wearing them every day for 10 hours or so. They hold up to my fieldwork (high desert, rocky, mudstone slopes with lots of cactus). This is a sturdy boot that would he good for backpacking or hiking.

I was going to the mountains and snow. Of course I needed some waterproof warm boots. I wanted something I could use for hiking all year long. I loved these boots. They are constructed so well. My feet were warm and I was in the snow with 27 degrees temperatures doing various recreational activities for 3 days. My feet never hurt, were dry, and warm. One other issue was the traction. I could walk everywhere without sliding. These boots are worth every dollar.

I purchased my second pair of Vasque hiking boots a few weeks ago, in anticipation of hiking the Grand Canyon. My first pair (Sundowners) took me from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail in 2000. It was perhaps risky to buy the new pair so close to the trip, but from previous experience, I was confident that they would work. I finished my Grand Canyon hike a couple of days ago and have nothing but good things to say about my new boots. With minimal breaking in, they were perfect for the hike. Very comfortable, waterproof, good, solid boots. I highly recommend them. I wear a Women's size 11 and they fit perfectly.
