I bought these shoes for walking and casual wear. I don't run on trails (unless I'm being chased by a bear!) I liked the looks of the shoes and I read good reviews of other Vasque products and decided to give them a try. I haven't worn them that much yet, but they are very comfortable and since I work in a middle school, they get comments from students (positive comments!) If they hold up well, I'd get another pair at some point in the future.

This seems to me to be a lighter weight update of the venerable Vasque Mercury... the same sole and amazing stability with a lighter weight upper and more breathable material. I walk in them but as a former runner for many years, I think it would be a superior trail running shoe. I am size 14 and it fits fine (not true for all Vasque shoes). btw, there is also a GTX version of this product which is equally comfortable.
