Fabric-and-leather construction and a supportive flexplate insole make this light to mid-weight backpacker easy to break in and sure to be comfortable, whether you're trekking into the hills for a few days or a whole week. Leather upper in 2.4 mm waterproof nubuck and cordura nylon fabric. Bimodal flex plate insole with contoured PU percussion midsole and Skywalk® tri-V lug high carbon rubber outsole. 3-bar knit nylon lined with variable fit system footbed.

Fit: This style tends to run large. For an accurate fit we recommend purchasing a 1/2 size smaller than you typically purchase. For example, if you normally purchase a size 7 1/2, we recommend purchasing a size 7.

Still the same great boot, even since redwing bought vasque -- skywalk sole is great. Roomier than usual -- expected with this model. I got 2 pairs!

I have had 8 pair of these boots. I wear them for at least 10-14 hours per day mostly 7 days per week. As a manager of a landscape company they get plenty of wear needing the Gore-Tex fabric in all kinds of weather. The are comfortable in the office, on concrete or in the field. I have a sensitive arch and when they breakdown it is time for a new pair in 6-9 months. I find the ankle support excellent. However, if you are a runner, it seems your ankles rely on this support and going to tennis shoes without the ankle support requires gradually building up the ankle muscles in running season. Worth the extra money.

I'm on my third pair of these boots. They're great, but it seems every time I get a new pair the shoe strings are different lengths, but oh well. They have good ankle support, great arch support, are very water proof, and I wear them all seasons, in all weather, from work to mountain hikes. I'm on my 2nd pair after 2 years. The soles begin to rot due to walking in wet areas and the leather uppers separated from the soles. I would buy these again. I would really love them if they were all leather.

I've had three pair of Clarions. I work in hot glass and metal shops on concrete floors all day long. These boots are the most supportive, comfortable work boots I've ever used. The construction is thick and sturdy, so much so I do not wear steel toe shoes. They are totally waterproof, do not slip, and are completely breathable. Working and wearing them everyday, 12 hours a day, for me they last a year before the soles crack. I just buy another pair. I hope they never stop making them.

I bought these to replace an old pair that I had for ten years. I took the boots everywhere and they never let me down. I have worn the current version for less then six months and the soles are deteriorating and coming apart from the boot. I'm very disappointed in this current version because of the soles.
