I wear exactly a 9 1/2 regular width and these fit my feet perfectly. There's wiggle room for my toes. I'm wearing them in warm weather for hiking - the material ventilates. I have solid material/warmer boots for winter weather. The ridge on the bottom and sides is great. Some breaking in needed around the ankle part with the shaft height over 4". Look on vasque.com for an accurate color of the woman's Breeze. The one shown on this page today is too bright/faded.

I am breaking in the boots little by little. I'll need them to be very comfortable by October when I'll wear them on safari. So far, they are performing as expected. They give support to my ankles and do not pinch in any way. Come to think of it, they don't need any "breaking in" because they are easy to wear already.
Wears this shoe: I walk two miles a day to break them in for a safari in the Congo.

I am always looking for a thoughtful gift for my wife. The boot was purchased as a gift for my wife. She walks and trains dogs as a volunteer for a local animal shelter and needed a good weather-proof boot that had good traction in snow and wet weather. She has had hip replacement surgery and it was critical that she stays on her feet even when the dogs want to try to drag her through the elements. The Vasque is more of a high-top waterproof sneaker, is more flexible then a standard boot and the more she wears them, the better they get. She is very happy with them. The only complaint she has was they did chaffe a little near the boot opening on the back of her ankle at the beginning, but a heavier sock helped with that. They are also very warm in below freezing temperatures. There are days when her feet are the only warm part of her body.They are very light weight, rugged, but feminine. If my wife is satisfied, I am. I would recommend this shoe to any woman that needs to deal with harsh conditions, but doesn't want to feel like the are wearing snow shoes.
