I bought the Vasque Blur because of its reputation for stiffness to help deal with my over-pronation and flat feet while trail walking my three dogs off leash three to four hours a day. I also have Vasque VSTs, Saucony Razors and a pair of North Face trail shoes. While my initial impression is very positive, it is still a bit early to make a complete evaluation.

This great walking and hiking shoe comes in different colors, and is very comfortable. My son is very particular about what he wears, and rotates different colors of the same shoe.

I knew going in that this shoe is intended for trail running, and thought it would do well mixed between road and off-road. Running on pavement with this shoe, for me, was not good. The qualities that make it great on the trail make it murderous on asphalt. It is rigid and stiff, and has little cushion under the heel; this helps on soft, uneven ground but is not good on pavement. I like the look, and these shoes are anvil tough. They're comfortable to wear hiking or slouching around, but I notice they feel heavier than they look.

I'm on my 3rd pair. These shoes are great. I run Trails and some road in these, they are comfortable and offer great support. Never had any problems with blisters and these area ready to go straight from the box. Just ordered the XCRs for muddy/wet runs. I highly recomend these shoes. They last.

This is the favorite shoe of my birdwatching son, who some days walks for miles, and prefers this shoe for everyday wear as well. I have gotten him this shoe in several available colors, and he uses the "worn out" pair for muddy work in the yard and patio. He loved it when he went on a birdwatching conference in Arizona, which involved a great deal of hiking.
