UK Gear PT-03 SC
Comfortably Indestructible January 11, 2013
Reviewer: Mr. Grumpy from Grovers Mill
Originally bought the PT-03's to serve as my primary running shoes. While they were just fine for that purpose, elite runners may find them a bit heavy and too structured. If, however, one is a Clydesdale, as I am (6'2", 245 lbs), then I am not sure that there is a more suitable shoe out there. Despite my large frame, I do not want or need all the clunkery that comes with a motion control shoe. The UK Gear is a nice compromise. The real merit to these shoes, however, is there durability. It is absolutely crazy just how long they last. If used for running, one will easily get 2-3 times more miles/time than most other running brands. But even after that these shoes just don't break down. I have bought 2 pairs in past and each have easily lasted 3 years plus. In fact, the first time around I clearly jumped the gun in working them into my lawnmowing rotation - I could have kept on wearing them as a general purpose sneaker (or "tennis shoe", as some might call them). I also like the fact that they look pretty cool and are not one of the mass market garden variety brands.
