Product Description (Men's Troentorp Bastad Clogs 5 Star Professional)
Troentorp clogs have been handcrafted in the Bstad region of Sweden since our start in 1907. Our clogs feature an orthopedically constructed foot bed that supports even weight distribution with a soft step, helping reduce lower back strain and leg and foot discomfort. Shaped to exact measurements, the cowhide leather uppers are wet-lasted and use hand-hammered stainless steel nails to attach to the moisture-resistant alder wood foot bed, which has a raised heel and an anatomically correct scaphoid metatarsal arch and toe well. Each clog features a 1" heat-bonded polyurethane sole and certified non-skid (ASTM 1677-Mark II) tread.
This clog is Sustainably Made and Slip-Resistant (Non-Skid Certified ASTM 1677-Mark II).

I am a male nursing student, who keeps hearing that clogs are the way to go, even from family members, who are professionals. I am still breaking these in per previous reviewers. I feel like I have to re-learn to walk in them. They seem like they will be comfortable. The main reason for the 4 star rating is quality control. I think they should have been seconds, due to the forefoot of the right shoe not being properly rounded off. It has one round edge and one "squarish" edge, which is really due to improperly trimmed piece of leather. Perhaps this is the joy of a truly handmade shoe. It will obviously not affect the wear-ability of the shoe.

I have worn Troentorp clogs for nearly 10 years. I buy 1 pair about once a year. I save the old pair for dirty work and use the new pair for my profession and socializing. They are non skid. Whereas most people have trouble walking, I have no problems. A 7 day break-in period is required for new first time buyers. Wear them for 1 hour a day for a few days, then work your way up to 6-8+ hours. After they are broken in, you will be able to stand on your feet for hours & hours comfortably. After 9-10 months a nail or 2 will start coming out. I just get a hammer & some small nails & it is a easy fix for a longer life of the shoe. As long as you do a proper & complete break-in of the shoe, you will not be disappointed, & it might be the only brand you ever buy again.

Well, I bought these about a month ago cause I've seen chefs at school and work wear these and have heard good things, and I can't quite understand why. I work the line in a high production kitchen, our floors are tile, and when I wear these I slip like CRAZY. Also, these are clogs, I work a line, I have to run sometimes, clogs are no bueno for that. On the upside of things after the initial break-in they are quite comfortable. As a summary I would say: If you work in a kitchen that you, by some miracle of god don't ever have to take step in any direction in and the floor is covered in anti-slip mats in case you do, then buy these. If that is not the case then your in the same boat as me, I wear a pair of 30 dollar kitchen crocs and I really wish these shoes would of worked out better.
Wears this shoe: Tested in a kitchen, now I wear them when I type reviews online about them.
