I normally wear a 11.5 EEE, I took a chance and ordered these in size 12. I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis and after wearing the TrekSta for a week I am cured. I just wish they came in syles that I could wear to work. I will be using TrekSta's for all my activities that don't require me to dress up.

I like the way these shoes feel. The fact that they have a modest arch support is a plus compared to the mid-height shoes that I have been buying from a camping supplier.I have not tried crossing a stream with these shoes, but I walk through a field every day, get soaked from the dew or a recent rain and the shoes keep my feet dry.I also like the fact that the lace loops are made from a (strong) fabric. I think that this setup, polyester against movable polyester, will make the laces last significantly longer.

Great width, ankle support, weight June 27, 2012

After two days of hiking in high western mountains, I'm pleased with the Treksta Evolution Mid GTX. The shoes are rather light (I'm used to a 3-lb pair of GTX Vasques) yet provided ample ankle support for my frame (175 lbs), pack weight (25-30 lbs) and distance (5+ miles). The traction was good, though perhaps a little too flexible. What I liked most was the ample footbed. Very comfortable with two different sets of merino wool socks. Unlike some complaints about the GTX, I had no problems with moisture getting into the shoes. They weren't tested too hard, but I went through streams, puddles, and the edge of a lake to test.
Wears this shoe: June 2012 in high Uinta mountains, Utah; above 10,000 ft, 5.2-mile trail.
