My old pair of Timberlands were the best boots I ever owned. You could put them on with one hand while standing. The soles and footbed were low tech, solid, and durable. Wore them every day for 4 years and though worn out now I can't bring myself to part with them. Nobody ever made a better boot than Timberland. But these are not the same boots. Its a struggle just to put them on and due to their narrow design, the top of the boot fits too tightly on your leg.The insoles: Soft, removable, and too deep. The soles: Extremely thin, apparently to accomodate the oversize insoles. This is the boot's greatest weakness. Not a strong design. Not a good choice if you plan to work in them.
