I like everything except it did not have enough cushioning...I tried to put a gel insole but it made it tight...I guess I just have to use it as is but not for extended walking

Let me say I have been test wearing this indoors because of the cold and snow,I am a little afraid to wear them outdoors with the soft finish. I really have become a fan of Timberline, this shoe scares me because I think there quality has slipped since last year, bought a similar pair and they have been great and you know when you get a great something in a shoe you hope the next pair is as good,

I have an older pair of similar style Timberland shoes that I've liked but are falling apart after several years of heavy use. I couldn't find the exact same style to replace my trusty pair, but these seemed close. However, the quality of these is not as good as my old pair. They just seem a bit cheap. The leather seems plastic-y. (I actually can't find any indication on the shoes regarding what the material is, which I thought was fairly standard for shoes.) I don't see these holding up nearly as well as my other pair.
