This is a true heavy-duty snow boot
By Kristine K., from Pennsylvania | February 01, 2011
This boot offers excellent traction and incredible warmth. It has a nice snug fit, preventing your foot from wiggling around when walking in snow or on ice. The construction is very high quality. Definitely worth the money.

Worth every penny for North Face quality. Warmest boot I have ever owned and the sole really does grip the ice. Love them!

really nice boot
By Debbie, from Canada | November 25, 2010
I am hoping the boot is warm and cozy in the winter as I'm in a daycare setting outside all day. With the great weather lately have not have any really cold weather to try them out in.

North Face McMurdo boot

I bought these boots because I need to stay warm and comfortable walking in frozen loose sand in an arena, giving riding lessons in winter. I ordered the boots a size larger than needed and they still feel barely big enough. Tonight was the first night I wore them and my feet are very fatigued. My toes ached. It wasn't very cold, only at freezing so I can't say about that - but the sole isn't cushioned very well, doesn't feel well insulated, and doesn't flex. The boot looks nice, and was toasty on the uppers. It is not a boot to do much walking in my opinion. I'm not sure I can use these boots, and will probably try to resell them.

Wears this shoe: In the winter - outdoors (snowshoeing, sledding, walking, etc)

I ordered a size 7 (typically wear a size 6.5-7). The boot fit well with a thin sock - tight with an outdoor sock. I sent them back and re-ordered a size 7.5. This size felt great! I have worn the boots in sub-zero temps and my feet were not cold. I typically have cold feet so would recommend this boot.

Not really pink
By Betsy, from Boston, Massachusetts | January 18, 2010
Because the boot was described as brown and pink, I was afraid the top fleece was going to be pinkish. The only pink is the inside of the boot and the North Face logo.
