Warm, comfy snow boots
By citygal, from Colorado | March 04, 2014
Love these boots but had to get a full size larger; I'm 8.5 and bought 9.5 which are perfect. They're stiff at first but become very comfortable, and I like the side-zip as opposed to lace-up. Plus they're warm and so far have good traction on our icy porch and sidewalks (before I put down the 'ice-melt'). Very pleased with purchase.

North Face Greenland Zip II Boot

Love these boots, ordered a half size up to wear with socks, perfect fit. Like the grip on the soles. Only complaint is the boots are a real struggle to take off.

It is okay, not great
By vickydino, from Atlanta, GA | January 01, 2014
I got these boots for my Alaska trip. First thing is that they are at least half size smaller than marked. I wear 6 to 6.5 for all brands. But when I got a pair of 8, it was still difficult for me to fit in with a pair of thick wool socks. I eventually broke in, though. I won't say it is not warm, but not as warm as it branded. while it is rated -40, I think it only works fine when it is -30 and you walk around. Definitely cannot keep you warm in -40 if you are still even with good socks. So I guess for lower 49 people, they are fine. But look for something better if you are aiming at even higher latitude in winter. The lodge in Arctic Circle I stayed with provides bunny boots and mickey boots, so they are probably one of the best choice. Oh, and they are not very comfortable to walk with. Heavy and seems to lack of support. But this could be a common problem for all heavy boots.

Not good enough
By Anonymous, December 26, 2013
I got the boots for my alaska trip during Christmas. The shoes are fine with -20 but definitely not good enough for -40 even with thick wool socks. I stayed outdoor for less than an hour in Fairbanks and feet were frozen. Also, it is very tired to wear the boots to walk for more than half an hour, but this could be the problem for all winter boots. Btw, the boots offered by the lodge at bettles are bunnies and mickeys

Really stiff
By redragonfly, from Coastal NC | December 16, 2013
I needed a winter boot to visit family back home in MA for the holidays. I looked at various winter boots & decided the price was great so I ordered these. I am unsure if I am keeping them since they most definitely run small as stated. I got a size 7 and they are snug vs my avg size 6.5 plus they seemed to run narrow and I don't have wide feet. The ankle shaft is so stiff I felt like I was wearing my old ski boots - same exact feeling trying to walk. I like the fur trim which was the style I was looking for. if they were more comfortable I would say I am keeping them. Due to actual comfort level and ease of walking not sure it's worth it. 4 stars looks 3 stars comfort.

Great grips!
By Katie, from Minneapolis, MN | January 07, 2012
After slipping on some ice last year and breaking my arm while wearing my old boots, I decided I needed something a bit more heavy duty for Minnesota winters. The traction on these is incredible. Where once I slipped and slid my way along the sidewalk, I walk with ease and the treads dig in to the ice and keep me stable. Great boot!
