Tennis is a competitive sport played with racquets by two or four players on a hard or soft court, generally of grass or clay. Types of equipment necessary to play the sport of tennis include the tennis ball; the racquet for hitting the tennis ball; appropriate athletic apparel such as shorts and breathable tops, and tennis shoes, which are designed to provide lateral support, cushioning as well as grip on the court surface.
K-Swiss Classic Luxury Edition Painful shoes

After walking about a mile, the top of the back of this shoe rubbed on the back of my ankle creating a penny sized bloody blister on my left foot. Tried wearing a bandaid over the blister but the shoe rubbed the bandaid off several times. Now these new shoes are going to be donated to charity. I hope the next wearer has better luck with them than I did.

New Balance MC656 A decent tennis shoe

I bought the 656 Tennis shoes to replace my 655s, which are no longer made. I like New Balance shoes because of the ankle support and nice, wide tread. I play pretty hard and wear out the treads, but they stay comfortable on my feet. If I could get the 655s I would, as they were just as good and less expensive. Other colors would be nice, but I quibble.

Thorlos Tennis Crew (2 Pairs) Nothing else for tennis

I love these socks. Before I wore these my feet used to get pretty sore after playing tennis, but these have great padding, and take a long time to wear out. I keep a few pair in rotation. They will bunch up at the toe sometimes because they're so thick. I wear the mini-crew when it's hot out, but the crews are super for Fall and Winter. I doubt I'll ever wear another brand as long as I play tennis.
