My daughter likes to "dress up" for school, but she is really tough on her clothes and shoes. I wanted a pair of black mary-janes that she could wear with a dress to school but still run on the playground. These fit the bill. Bonus that they have the ballet slipper look.

I love that this shoe was a great fit for both of my older girls (ages 4 & 5). My oldest has a narrow foot and can't wear ballet style flats. This was a perfect style for her with the velcro strap and fits her narrow foot great. It's perfect with our school uniforms.

We really wanted to like this shoe. We thought they were adorable and went well with all her dresses and skirts for the school year. After dancing around the room for an hour in them on carpet while wearing tights, she declared they fit perfectly. We selected a dress, laid out the shoes and new tights and waited for morning. Alas, in the light of the first day of school, she declared they were "too loose in the heel" and promptly took them off and put them back in the box where they have been sitting for two weeks. I'm hoping they will fit better in a month or two, or at least we'll try again when we need a perfect little black shoe to complete an outfit.
