Shoes to fit toddler that requires a wide width

After several attempts to find a pair of sandals for my grandson, Jaiden I decided to try the Stride Rite sandals. They are a perfect fit. Wide widths are very hard to find. We also appreciate the quality of the shoe. While shopping with his mother she took the sandals off, to her surprise he cried and wanted them on. I think this speaks volumes about the shoes.

I love how stylish this shoe looks. However, for a wide width shoe the strap is not long enough to accomodate how wide my son's feet are. There were no problems putting the shoe on his foot. The problem came when I went to strap it. The strap was just too short.

The style of the shoe was exactly as I wanted, however I felt that the shoe seemed much bigger than what I expected.
