My son is wearing 5.5 XW Saucony shoes right now. These particular SR sneakers would not fit him - not even close - in a 6. It was disappointing, to say the least. The quality of the shoe is great, the appearance is great, and they would probably last the entire season (or until my son outgrows them, whichever came first). However, the sizing is quite frustrating and disappointing.

I buy extra wide for my son and they are perfect. This is his 2nd pair and he walks/runs so much easier in these compared to all others.

Got this shoe for my 16mo son whos been walking for a few months and grew out of his first pair of SRs. He loves them, they are lightweight, durable, better and more sportier looking in person, and go with everything. Didn't give it 5 stars because after 4 weeks there are some signs wear, where it looks like the color is wearing off in areas.

This is a great shoe especially since it is washable. I originally ordered a 7W which was too narrow for my son. We then got a 7.5W which fits him but still seems a bit narrow. I have purchased other Stride Rite wide shoes and have had no problems. Not sure if the washable fabric is less stretchy. It's a very nice shoe but if your child had really wide feet, you may want to get an extra wide.
