I was purchasing these for our son's wedding and needed to avoid man-made materials as I have found them to be very uncomfortable in the past. I selected these because the product description says, "Black patent leather classic, plain toe oxford. Features 3 eyelets." Nowhere in the description on line does it say that the shoes have any man made components. Yet, when I received the shoes they are clearly marked inside, "Leather Sole, Balance Man made materials, Made in India." I am scrambling for a replacement at the last minute. On top of that they run at least 1 size larger and seem wider than normal.

I bought the shoes for my concert performance outfit. I have tried them on and they fit fine, but I haven't really worn them yet as the concert is still a few weeks off. There was some glue on one of the shoes, but my wife knew how to care for patent leather (vaseline) and got the glue off the shoe. I was happy to find a pair of nice patent leather shoes at a reasonable cost.

For the occasional black tie affair, this shoe is comfortable and a great alternative to rental shoes. As with all formal leather shoes, I recommend sanding the sole lightly before first wear.
