I bought these shoes because I liked the style. I read the reviews on these shoes and bought a half size larger as suggested. I also needed something with comfort. They are comfortable but as suggested, buy a size larger. The width, I do need a little more width. But I am in hopes they will stretch when I use a shoe stretcher. The soles of the shoes are the same as the other shoes I bought, I am afraid they will split across where the ball of my foot is.. But this doesn't mean they will do the same for others who might purchase them..

In July 2009,I purchased the Spring Step Viva because I was looking for a comfortable shoe that can endure constant standing and walking on concrete.Also,I needed a good pair of shoes for my orthotics.These shoes fitted tightly.I wear a size 8 1/2 and I purchased these shoes in a size 9.Also I could not remove the insoles to insert my orthotics.One more thing, the area where the shoes laces up, there was a small patch on each side that was not glued down.I was not sure if this was part of the design or not.Overall, I liked the design of the shoes and I liked how the insoles were made.The Spring Step Viva not made to accommodate the design of my feet.

I purchased the Spring Step walking shoes along with two other pairs, so it was awhile before I got to wear them, but they didn't fit. I returned them and got a wider size which fit perfectly.

The shoes would be nice if they didn't squeeze my toes together. My foot didn't lay flat, and there was no way I could ever wear them comfortably. They were the right size for length - just too narrow in the toes!
