Spring Step Amsterdam
Heel too high
November 10, 2012
Reviewer: Wendy from Larchmont, NY
Most people want softness and flexibility in a walking shoe. But I bought the Amsterdam for its rigid sole, because I have arthritis in my big toe, and doctors have told me that rigidity would prevent the daily stress and pain from flexing while walking. The sole is doing just what I expected, keeping my toe from bending and greatly alleviating my foot pain. HOWEVER, the heel is way too high, and as a previous poster said, it causes the foot to slide forward, which puts my back out of alignment. Now my back hurts! I've tried putting toe pads under the forefoot, to no avail. I do wish Spring Step would make this shoe flatter. If they ever do, I hope they let me know, because they are almost perfect for me, otherwise.
