This shoe appears to be well made and finished. It's the first pair of Sperry's I've owned. At first it seemed to be a bit snug on the fit making me think it was not true to size. But as is with most loafers, they do stretch a bit so this was good. The outside finish is good however I was taken back by the "soft" interior finish. It's almost like a suede or something which when wearing socks (which I do), it "grabs" and pulls the sock making the sock way too tight against your toes (and I'm not talking a bulky sock, just a plain or maybe even dress sock it does this). I'm hoping over time this "softness" will smooth down as I have to compensate by putting my socks on "loose" so when I slip on the shoe it has enough room to pull the sock where it normally would be. With this exception, I would have to say overall I'm pleased with the shoe and believe it will wear or last well just from looking and wearing it.

I predominately dress in business attire, but recently have more frequent occasions that call for more of a "business casual" look. I am a slip on, loafer kind of guy and really do enjoy the "kilty & tassle styles. I shopped online for hours before daydreaming back to my college preppy days and how much wear I had gotten out my Top-siders. I was delighted to find that they carried several models in a wide width and in the style I prefer. The Amaretto Sperry Top-sider Tremont is everything I hoped for and more! After one day they felt as if I had been born wearing them, and have excellent arch support. They pair well with casual pants, jeans, and shorts; with our without socks. Love the shoes so much I immediately tried to order the black and amaretto two-tone model but they are out of stock. I just read on MSN yesterday that the "preppy fashions" are making a comeback and if you look around at some feet the next time you are out anywhere nice you will notice that Sperry is already well represented.
