I have previous to these sandals ordered & returned THREE pairs of sandals to other mail order vendors, due to problems with fit and with quality of leather. These sandals, however, have a removable footbed that accepts an orthodic, a very important feature, in my opinion. The eyelets are gold-plated & corrosion resistant & the exterior leather is manufactured to be water resistant with a first class buffed finish. The interior is of deerhide, which can be soaked and when redried return to supply condition. Unlike Timberland & Trask sandals, the leather finish color on these Sperry Gold Cups doesn't come off with rubbing of a fingernail! Unlike the $140 Trask sandals, the Sperrys can be completely re-soled without sending it to a special facility for a proprietary sole ($75). At $150 normal retail the Gold Cups are the very top of the Top Sider line (which have been in existence for 70 years) and by all indications worth the premium price.

Look and fit are better than expected. Doeskin lining is very comfortable. I wear a B width shoe and this sandal holds my foot well. Very happy with this purchase.
