I bought the Liv because it is a replacement for the shape-up. However, it turned out to be very satisfactory by virtue of the lighter weight and soft cushioning that absorbs the impact on the ankle and upper joints. I have only been wearing this shoe for two moths or at most so I can't attest to its reliability. I do however, like the mesh-like material that comprise the toe box; not only is it cooler, but it is also softer against the touch. I find that I tend to walk faster in this shoe, probably due to the lighter weight and cushioning combined. I like it, I give it a solid seven out of ten. The only thing missing why this shoe is not a ten is that it could be a little more cushioned. Only time will tell of its durability. I recommed it for serious walking, and indeed a plus plus for the casual walker.
