I pretty much only wear boots, even in summer. And now that I live in a tropical climate, I still only wear boots. I also walk a lot, since I don't own a car and haven't owned one for several years. I wear a lot of Skechers and trust the brand with my life, so when I saw they had not just boots, but Shape Up boots, I thought it would be worth a try. Even with miles and miles of walking in a week, I never really noticed a difference in the shape of my thighs or butt. I thought these might be able to help.First impressions: Feels interesting when walking. I like that they're leather, because leather breathes (I hate synthetic material--too hot), but I don't like the height so much. If they were slouchy boots, the height would be more acceptable. Straight boots should be taller. A little tight in the toe, but will probably stretch as I use them (I always wear 7s in Skechers, so I got these in 7 too). After a great deal of walking, the tightness has gone away and I do notice a difference in the tone of my thighs and hips. I already walk a great deal, so I had no pains or issues with using these for long periods of time. Your mileage may vary. They are very comfortable, and I like being able to rock back and forth without destroying the heel (I do that in high heels a lot). I think these are pretty good shoes, especially if you do a lot of walking anyway. They really do help out with toning your legs.
