Minimalist shoes are making a splash on the running scene as a way to mimic barefoot running. Skechers GOrun makes Competitor Magazine's list of top contenders. This light and flexible shoe makes for an easy transition to the new running style. The low heel drop encourages runners to strike at the mid foot. Skechers recommends getting comfortable with these shoes before setting off on a long run.

Elite marathon runner and Skechers GOrun fan Meb Keflezighi is gearing up for the 2012 Olympic trials. Hopefully the minimalist sneakers will lead him to a spot in the 2012 Summer games.
