Patagonia Super Alpine Bibs Super - High quality, non-baggy alpine bib!

This is my second bib purchase from Patagonia for use in on and off-piste alpine skiing. The first pair lasted a decade, so my expectations from Patagonia products is high. I first tried the Patagonia Powslayer bib. The medium powslayer was huge(I am 5'10, 165). It fit like a pair of trash bags. I can't imagine skiing in the powslayer. Even the waist was incredibly loose (I am 33") and would not prevent snow from sneaking in during a fall on a deep powder day when paired with my arc'teryx jacket. I sent the powslayer back and ordered the super alpine bib - glad I did! I would describe the super alpine fit as "technical". The pants are not baggy and can be tightly secured to your boots. Waist and bib top fit comfortably but are not loose. The goretex pro material is bomber including the improved edge guard fabric which my prior pair lacked. I tend to get hot, and have already used the full side vents on a bluebird day. I can't imagine these not lasting a decade.
Patagonia Super Alpine Jacket Hurricane Proof

Talk about a good first impression. Right after I got this jacket I was in the thick of it that was Super Storm/ Hurricane Sandy. In both the rain and the snow that it dumped on us it certainly proved its worth. Hands down my favorite thing about this jacket is the wrist gaskets...what a great addition. The fit is spot on as it is cut athletic but easy to layer underneath as the temps drop. At this point I have been through multiple Gore-tex Shells and this is my favorite so far. Its burly and is taking all the abuse I can give it. As a disclaimer I test products for the Gore company.
