I ordered the Bostonian Whip Plain Toe as an all-around basic shoe which I could wear for many situations - work, casual, dress - and that is what I got. It is comfortable, good-looking and basic. The fit was very true to size and width.

These are quality shoes, made from robust leather and durable rubber. I'm impressed with the workmanship.Because my feet are flat and narrow, I generally have trouble finding traditional oxfords that fit. Not surprisingly, I found this true with the Dunham Battery Park Waterproof Oxford. I ordered a B width, but still found them roomy.After inserting a used footbed from an old pair of New Balance cross trainers beneath the existing footbed, and re-lacing them corset-style to maximize their tightness, things improved. Since my foot sits low, the top rear of the shoe tends to dig into the space between my heel and ankle.But I haven't given up yet. I'm still working with them. I expect as the leather softens, these will become old trusted friends.

I bought these shoes for my son, a school teacher. I got him a pair in tan nubuck years ago and he was hooked. They are the only oxfords he ever wears. He claims nothing else is half as comfortable for being on your feet all day. The Corvallis is a great shoe.
