Not heavy, perfect fit.The only thing I would say is it would be even better if they were lined, like Teva water shoes, with a soft material inside, to keep from rubbing anywhere. These only rubbed in a couple spots where there was stitching- an easy fix- get some "moleskin" from the grocery store 'foot' isle next to the arch supports. Then they're perfect!

As always, Stride Rite makes great shoes! Our son (14 months) even loves these shoes-he brings them to us so we will put them on his feet! The fit, color, and quality are what we love about these shoes. They are versitle-look nice with everyday wear and dressing up for church and provide the comfort and support needed for young developing feet.

OK - my grandson (16 months) loves Elmo, but red just doesn't go with enough of his clothes so went with Cookie Monster. These are a bit big, but will be perfect for September sock weather. He LOVES them! Mom appreciated the great quality and ease of putting on a toddler foot. Stride Rite quality is still great!
