Do not buy this shoe. The quality of this shoe is very, very poor. The rubberized material (white) that covers the shoe peels off on the first or second wear. My child was embarrassed after wearing these shoes to school after 1 month. I ended up throwing them in the garbage because I didn't want to deal with the return process. A BIG waste of money!

These shoes attracted me because of the width (marked MW.)At first, I thought the shoes were too narrow, and I thought I'd have to send them back, but am very glad I didn't!First, they have an adjustable insole system to sort of customize them to the foot. What it is is two layers you can either take out, or layer accordingly to fit.Secondly, (and for me, the most important) is the type of leather used for the uppers. I've had my 7 year old in them for a few months now and not only did the leather mold to his feet quickly, it's more durable than any other leather shoe he's worn. The leather is dyed completely through (as it should be) but it's hard to find this quality in other brands. I've had more expensive shoes where the leather upper would chip or scuff off- not these.The instep is supportive but not hindering, and the soles are perfect; not too thick so the feet can't bend, and not too thin to wear out the shoe. I do not think he'll wear them out- he'll grow out of them before they'll wear out.By the way, these shoes look fantastic, too. He can (and does) wear them with everything from trousers to jeans and look impeccably dressed.I am so glad I didn't return them! These will be reordered and reordered as he grows. You just can't find a better shoe.

I bought this shoe because Stride Rite is a classic, quality brand. These shoes do not disappoint! LOVE THEM!!! They are very comfortable to my 7yo for all day wear, quality leather and flexible sole. The shoe moves and gives with his steps but maintains its shape. When he grows out of these I will buy another pair!

I bought these at the request of my daughter's physical therapist to help stabilize her ankles as she learns to walk. They have helped tremendously! The shoes are of excellent quality, but run at least a whole size larger, and because of the leather bottoms are a little slick. Of course the slickness was easily remedied by scuffing them up on the concrete or buying anti slip pads for the bottom of ladies shoes and trimming them to fit the shoes.

Bought this shoe for my 6 year old to wear with her school uniform. She loves them and they were sized right and very comfortable. The insole started wadding up inside the shoe after a couple of weeks and the bottom sole just started ripping off after less than 3 months. She can't wear them anymore; I would glue it back on if I could, but it's torn all the way to the inside of the shoe. Expected much better quality and durability for the brand and price.
