I have a very difficult time finding the proper shoe to My shoe size is a 8 EEEEE. When I found the hush puppy mall walker, I felt that it was a good fitting shoe and was a nice looking shoe,but after the third pair , I found that the manufacture must be changing the way they are made. The cut was about a 1/2 size smaller. My feet didn't hurt after a 10 hour at work day with the first 3 pairs, but now they hurt every day. It's time to start looking for a new shoe. good luck

I had been interested in the Danner Melee 3" in 'Canteen' nylon shoe for about a year, but as a savvy consumer not willing to pay MRP.These are better than expected, no hot spots, superb comfortable foot bed, indestructible Vibram? sole with a very well designed lug pattern, 1000 Denier nylon upper which breaths very well, they added a shoelace 'garage' made of a soft stretch materiel on the upper front top of the tongue... which allows the wearer (Op) to tuck/hide the tied laces away for a neat appearance if desired (good when riding a bike).A list of the specs below that make these a superb choice. * Water-resistant exterior protective coating.* Breathable, moisture-wicking mesh lining.* Durable 1000 Denier nylon upper.* Abrasion resistant toe and heel cap.* Cushioning polyurethane footbed.* EVA midsole for shock absorption with an ESS external coating for abrasion resistance.* Patent pending Danner? I have always worn Danner workman boots, NOT ANY MORE.These boots are so much better than any Danner boot I have ever owned, from the fit to the comfort, the only thing left to see is the longevity of the Carolina boot and if they last 6 months they have beat Danner. I work construction and these boots are subject to heavy use daily.
Wears this shoe: Daily 10 to 12 hrs.

comfy but narrow

i usually buy boots in a 10 1/2 size and so I did. the Melle was true to size but has a really narrow fit. I have been wearing this shoe for a week now hoping the break-in period would stretch it a bit but so far no luck. I had to loosen the laces just to get more room. the shoe itself is very light, and has very good ankle support. the sole of the shoe is vibram so its hard but flexible. it feels like a hi-cut sneaker with better support all around. just buy the wide or a full size bigger.
