Waterproof-breathable ultra-lite parka at a bargain price

I bought a large size mens version and it weighs in at about fourteen ounces including its own stuff sack. I have worn it on three hikes on the snow and ice at temperatures at 21, 36 and 45 degrees Fahrenheit and at 45 degrees Fahrenheit. On those hikes I carried between 15 and 30 pounds in close-fitting alpine-style climbing packs. The underarm zips work flawlessly to help dissipate moisture when trudging uphill on cold windy days. Unlike many 2-layer parkas, this one is not terribly noisy. I have not tested it in rain or snow due to near drought conditions up here at almost 7,000 feet elevation but as all seams come factory seam-sealed, I do not expect any problems. The hood cinches down tighly over my head and prevents wind from entering, unlike many of the parkas I evaulated before making my decision to buy the Hurricane LT. I can get my Petzl Ecrin Roc climber's helmet under the hood but there is not too much room. The parka length is short but there is little interference with my climbing harness. The parka has one deep inside pocket and two smaller ones and this is definitely a plus. All zippers work well except the main front zipper needs to be fed carefully each time I try to zip up the parka to insure that zipper mates properly. Once I do that, the zipper works perfectly. All in all, for under 50 bucks delivered, Shoebuy.com provided me with a really decent product which more than met my expectations. Congratulations.
Pretty darn good raincoat

I bought this because my friend already had one and I liked the model. It is lightweight and compacts pretty well, about the size of two baseballs placed next to one another. It has nice ventilation options on the sleeves. I guess it's maybe not the most durable piece of equipment (it seems like it would tear somewhat easily if you got it stuck on a sharp edge) but it more than makes up for it in terms of weight and space. Recommended.
