  • Worst boots ever! December 01, 2012

If you are considering spending money on these boots: don't. These are the worst boots I have ever owned. The leather quality is poor. Some parts are stiff and plasticky while others are dull and rough. Despite claiming to be waterproof, these boots have no ability to keep out any amount of water. Even walking on wet pavement will get my feet wet. On top of it, these boots don't breath. My feet are soaked in sweat all the time. Buyers beware.

I got the black ones's a while back and liked them so much I picked up another pair in brown. They are pretty versatile in that you can dress them up or down, wear them in the rain (something I don't like doing with leather soles). The browns especially look great with raw denim for a more polished casual style-at the office(casual), going out etc. The black ones for wearing with trousers. These are comfortable right out of the box-if I had any complaints I would say the thin soles don't have a tremendous amount of cushioning, but not a dealbreaker for me-living/working in NYC I do quite a bit of walking. With the rubber soles they do feel almost like you're wearing sneakers. Time will tell how long the soles will last. Leather looks and feels quality and they are breaking in nicely. As far as sizing they seem to trend long and narrow-I ended up with 9.5D in these. They felt a bit long at first so I tried sizing down to a 9 but could barely get my foot in. After wearing these for a couple weeks the 9.5 feels spot on and is super comfy. For size reference I wear a 10D Chippewa boots, 9.5D in Allen Edmonds, Clark's DBs; and 10.5 in Jack Purcells, Adidas.Oh yeah, give them a good shine with Kiwi Neutral right off the bat-makes 'em "sing" ;)
