This boat shoe features Strobel construction genuine nubuck upper with breathable Drilex® Hydrofil® mesh panels, a padded tongue, a breathable brushed fabric lining, a nylon woven functional lacing system with metal tips and corrosive Sebago® eyelets, a removable Imprint™ memory foam with Poliyou® foam cushion sock insert with a breathable brushed fabric cover, a three-quarter length nylon insole, a steel arch shank, a full length EVA cushion, an EVA heel cushion, and a Sebago® Straits™ sole with slip-resistant, non-marking, siped rubber.

Fit: This style tends to run large. For an accurate fit we recommend purchasing a 1/2 size smaller than you typically purchase. For example, if you normally purchase a size 9 1/2, we recommend purchasing a size 9.

Shoe has more padding in the sole than other brands I have tried. It also seems to be made better. I take a narrow width, but this shoe does not come in that width so I purchased a medium. Toe area is fine, but heel is a little wide. I put in heel inserts which corrected the problem.

As other reviewers mentioned, the sole is soft and well padded, perfect if you do a lot of walking or need to be on your feet a lot. I also have the Sebago Spinnaker Docksides, but I prefer the Castine for better comfort level. The leather is also top-notch. These are high quality shoes and I highly recommend them.

I live on a boat for 8 weeks during the summer... My navy Sebago Castines were worn every night and when I sailed.... They are extremely comfortable and I got a lot of compliments. I have not worn my walnut ones yet but I expect to have the same results. Great, great shoe!!

The Sebago Castine has a well padded sole, and is very comfortable. The toe box is a bit narrow because of the style of the shoe.
