I like this journal. I bought a walnut one. The outside of the cover of it looks great. It has a sheen on its surface and is easy to clean with cloth (I guess it is not easy to be made dirty). I guess this one has waxed leather. If so, it will keep its shape for a long time. Though it is said that waxed leather is hard, this one is quilted and feels soft. The inside of the cover, the black you see on the picture is not leather. If it is made of black soft leather, it will make a perfect cover. The refill is okay. It's creamy and has world maps. But I use Fiorentina 6 3/4"*9 1/2" journal refill, which is good for fountain pens. I have three Italian leather journals.
