Preamble: (1) I bought four pairs of slippahs to settle, finally (or at least for the moment!) whether any are really worth $30++, or, rather, if I'm going to spend $30++, which is worth it! (2) I'm specifically talking about size 16s. These points may or may not apply to Normal Size people. I'm ecstatic that shoebuy had any 16s at all, let alone a choice! These Scott's are really promising. They're warrantied, seemingly bombproof and have the emotional plus of (at least for my pair) being shipped from Hawaii. The sole is dense and looks to be long lasting. The footbed is not particularly formed/supportive, but over the past week, it seems to be conforming to my foot... this aspect of the design may wind up being a good thing. However, the strap is -not- comfortable... it's not tight, but it's unpleasant... it's abrasive, even, and the bit between one's toes is thick. Also worth noting: They were the shortest length of the group, and look a little small under your foot, but the feel is actually fine.I'm keeping these to see how they wear, and if they get more comfortable over time: Perhaps the straps will smooth with use. On initial appraisal, they seem like they're going to last a -long- time. The Scott sandals tick emotional, rugged-build and traditional-look boxes. If they had a better strap and more support, they'd be perfect. So, of course, I kept three pairs. We'll see how they do over time.See other reviews for specifics on each.
