Product Information for Saucony

Product Description
A full ounce lighter than its predecessor, the Ride 5 is the most responsive version of this shoe to date. The heel edge is beveled (rounded) for a smoother transition from heel strike to midfoot, and more flex grooves have been carved into the forefoot design for better overall fl exibility. The heel-to-toe offset has been adjusted from 12mm to 8mm to promote a more balanced, efficient stride throughout the gait cycle, while the ProGrid™ technology (previously in heel only) has been extended to the entire foot bed for a more seamless feel.

Like them so much, had to go back
By RunMommyRun, from Denver, NC | October 09, 2013
For me these shoes are great. Cushiony, supportive where I need it, don't aggravate plantar fasciitis too bad. They do slip in the heel a little for me but most shoes do this, just my feet. I adjust the laces to minimize problems. Love Saucony and have tried several different models of shoes but had to come back to the Ride.

comfy

Wore these shoes around the house for a couple hours just to make sure the fit was good, but even if I hadn't done that, I think they would have felt great the first time out. Very stable.

Favorite walking shoe
By Judy G, from Lititz, Pa | July 12, 2013
These shoes are the best walking shoes I've ever owned. I always liked a different brand, but my last 2 pairs were disappointing. Based on the reviews here, I decided to try this brand. Glad I did! Right out of the box they were so comfortable, and fit so good, that I knew I had a new favorite. I'm almost 60 years old, and I like to walk the dog about 2 miles a day, as we both need the exercise! I have wide feet, and often had trouble with the toe box being too snug, even with the wide width. These don't taper in towards the front as much, but have a nice rounded toearea, thus, no pinching of my toes. The heel is snug without rubbing my Achilles tendon. I hope they wear well; that will make me a very happy customer.

I bought the Pro/grid Ride 5 shoes because the Ride 3 shoes were no longer available. These seem just as good. I have high arches and get good arch support with the Saucony brand. I like that these are light weight and keep your feet cool. The Ride 5 has a more rounded toe so that may be why they feel a 1/2 size smaller to me. Not sure if I like the colored laces so much.

Not nearly as nice as the Progrid Ride 4
By Very active 60 year old, from Bryan, OH | June 18, 2013
It's hard to describe, but the shoe is made differently than the Ride 4. It just doesn't feel like it has the same support - like your foot may want to roll outwardly over in a very short time. The string area seems wider. I had the same problems with the Progrid Omni 11 vs. Omni 10. The Omni 11's were terrible. I could only wear them for about a month. NO SUPPORT and wanted to roll over. I have always bought Saucony shoes because they are the only narrow shoes that I can find. I am so disappointed in the "new" models!

Needs more cushioning, not what I need.
By Tamara, from Tampa, FL | May 28, 2013
I am training for a 3-Day 60 mile walk so need comfort and support for walking distances. This shoe did not impress me while testing inside. I returned the pair.

Decent
By Nic, from Wisconsin | May 22, 2013
Lightweight and supportive, but not magical. I have really long "big toes" that inevitably hurt, and I hurt as normal with these shoes. Magical shoes will support my weird long toes, but that is a personal problem. :-) I am happy enough with this purchase. :-D
