Reviewer: Otto from seattle Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width well this boot has done me well other then the soles (they wore down a lil fast but I was draging my feet a lil too). But all and all, great boot after the break in (took like 3 to 4 weeks with wearing them for 10 to 13 hours at work 5 days a week)GET THEM!!!! They were not too bad to break-in. The soles provide very little support. They are definitely a fashion boot. If you need to cover rough terrain you will want a heavier boot. They are beautiful and make me feel warmer in the chilly winter. Reviewer: Mon from NYC Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width Love them! Quite hard to brake down, but all the pain is worth it. Not as heavy as it seems to be! Wears this shoe: all the time Reviewer: Virginia from Syracuse, New York Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width This is my first pair of Doc's, so I'm sure that the breaking-in period of pain is perfectly normal. Now that it's over though, these boots are wonderfully comfortable. With my wear-time it took about a week and a half to get them to this stage. Someone else's comment about them being very creaky is correct though, So be prepared for some interesting sounds when you walk ;). Wears this shoe: Every evening Reviewer: Gatt approves Dr Martens from Atlanta, GA Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width These boots are likely one of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I'm usually in them eight to fourteen hours out of the day. One drawback - be prepared to break them in. Everyone told me, they are a pain to break in. It is true, but once they are broken in, they will be with you for years to come. So far, I just broke the heel in. No more raw and painful heels. All in all, great boots, would likely purchase another pair. I assume I just need to break them in - I hope that's the case because aside from the noise they're comfortable and attractive. They're reliable, strong boots that truly mold to your individual foot, and once that happens, they're yours, and no one could wear them as well. The great thing about these classic-styled Doc Martens boots is that, with pants over them, they look like semi-dress shoes, and are therefore suitable to wear with a suit. This is important to me because living in Vermont, it can be very unpleasant to wear normal shoes in the winter. I got a bit tired of getting wet/cold ankles whenever I walked anywhere, thus I felt it was time to get a new pair of DM boots. Having owned various pairs of DMs over the past 15 years or so, I'm well aware of the extensive break-in procedure they usually require. To my surprise, these 14-eye boots are actually proving easier to break in than any Doc Martens I've owned in the past. I put a pair of comfort insoles in them right at the start, and they became very comfortable within a few days. I still wouldn't try walking long distances in them yet, at least not without band-aids on my heels, but I'm confident that they'll be among the most comfortable shoes I own within a couple weeks. Despite their comfort and relatively conservative appearance, they also feel rugged enough to do double-duty for motorcycle riding or punk rock concerts. Great all-around boots.
