This is the only shoe/boot my wife wears while riding her motorcycle, and the shoe type for work she even has myself looking at a pair.

Probably the best of all docs I have. This is not my first pair of black smooth; and everytime I get the same experience. The leather is stiff at the beginning. But I think it's good quality. I know some of you may not like that; but trust me, when the leather breaks in, it is probably the best boot I have. The leather breaks in according to your feet. So, once it is broken in, I feel like this boot was meant to be just for me. Very easy to maintain.Here are some pros and cons-pros: comfortable after breaking in; good quality leather; does not streach a lot, so that the boot becomes loose after a few wearing; excellent aknle support; bouncy sole for long days; easy maintainancecons: no arch support (change the insole); stiff leather (I use doc martens magic balm); no insulation (I wear warm socks on a cold day, anyway)I know some of you would argue whether or not it is a work boot or not; but I think it depends on the type of work you do. I won't recomment this boot if you would have to be where the bott is exposed to sand and/or cement, mud, etc., all day, everyday. I am sure docs have different work boots for that purpose. It's a perfect boot for in city, or inside building walking, etc., and especially if you are on your feet almost all the time and/or do a lot of walking (at least works for me).

This is my third pair of this style docs, so it is clear that I love them! It takes a bit to break them in, but once they are, they're like a mold of your feet and super comfortable.I highly recommend these boots.
Wears this shoe: Through the fall and winter and early spring and when I'm on the bike.

Excellent boot. Can't go wrong with the Docs. I have never been unhappy with Doc Martens. After the 2-4 day break in period they quickly become the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Excellent quality and look.

The color is spectacular. The leather, though, is wanting. I owned a like pair of boots in the '90s and the leather in those was of a better quality. Still, they have the same super comfy sole, and they look ultra cool.

Comfortable boots, after they are broken in. If you do not usually wear a whole size, you will need a thicker pair of socks. Overall, great boots at a great price!

It is a tough feel, not a comfortable feel. I am hoping it wears in to be more comfortable. It is definately water proof.

I love Doc's but haven't had a pair for a few years and they are very hard to break in. 3 good days of wearing them and your feet will hurt, but after that they're golden.
