I ordered one half size smaller as suggested in the discrption, and it fits fine. I am breaking them in gradually, but so far they are very comfortable. I am glad they come in small sizes. Not too many shoes come small enough for me.
Wears this shoe: In the desert where I live you can wear them all year around. Anyting casual.

My brother has worn Birkenstocks for quite some time.So I finally tried on a pair and they were so comfortable I just had to get them.

This is a very comfortable shoe with great arch support. My problem is flat feet so this shoe is a great boost. Love it!

These sandels fit perfect and are very comfortable. I can wear them all day because they support my feet properly. I have flat feet and have a hard time finding shoes that provide enough support. They also look great.

Sandal felt stiffer than other Birkenstock models I have used, but size 17's are hard to find, pun intended. It would be nice if there were other colors and styles to choose from.

This is the second pair I've bought. The first pair finally wore out after three years of heavy use. The strap in the backs makes it easy to walk in these sandals. This style is great for walking tours! It only took a few days to break in the heavy leather.

Sandal is comfortable and the narrow width is great since I wear a narrow A in regular shoes. However, the raised area (in front of sandal) over the toes does irrate my large toe when walking for a length of time.

I've had several pairs of Birks, usually Florida. However after 3 foot surgeries, my Dr. told me I must get Birkenstocks but wanted me to have a back strap.I love them as much as I loved them 10 years ago!I have to wear a Carbon Fiber insert with all other shoes. So I choose to stay in the Birks full time!

I bought this shoe because it had a back strap. The nubuck caused a squeaking noise as I walked, but after applying baby powder it helped a lot. I would recommend this shoe to anybody thinking of purchasing it.T he quality is outstanding.

I bought these sandals to help with over sweating problem. I needed a sandal that would allow my feet to breathe, so I did not want man-made materials touching my feet. Within about two weeks of wearing these, there was a big improvement to the way my feet looked. Meaning they started to dry out. I am very happy with these sandels. My wife always said to buy Birkenstocks, she owns 4 pairs and loves every one of them. Thank you.

I ordered a 44R which was comparable to the american size 11. When they came they looked huge and I thought for sure would definately be too big. When the recipient tried them on they were perfect !!
