FIRST MERRELL SHOES FOR HIM

I talked my husband in to getting a pair as he was always complaining about his feet hurting when we went on walks. I've had their hiking boots for 20 yrs now (the same pair!) so I thought he'd like this Outland shoes for walking. Which he DOES; a lot!The only thing he wishes was different are the lace up loops at the top; he would like the upper last 2 to be those metal hooks that your lace goes around - like on boots a lot of times.
Wears this shoe: Go to the store; leisure walks; etc.

First of all, the shoe is handsome, very well constructed, and conveys quality. It is also very comfortable, at least for city walking which is all I have experienced. Probably its biggest limitation is that you may not want to get it dirty and scruffed in the mud and crud of hiking trails.

First Disappointment After Six Previous Pair of Merrells

I thought this would be the perfect new model in my longstanding affair with Merrell shoes. It turned out to be the biggest mistake I have ever made. After a short break-in period on the Tahoe Rim Trail, I began a five-day, 50 mile through high of the (San Francisco) Bay Ridge Trail. Two days and about 23 miles into the trip I was in such pain from blisters that I had to get off the trial and drive home to pick up my old Merrell Radial Pulse IIs which I was replacing with the new Outland. The Outland was my seventh pair of Merrells and I had not had a blister with this brand in almost 20 years. My feet were wrecked by the Outlands and I was only able to complete the trek by switching back to my old Radial Pulses.
Wears this shoe: One day in Lake Tahoe and two days in the San Francisco Bay Area of California.

I like a shoe with a fairly robust sole and yet a firm yet comfortable insert/ortho, this show does both of those things for my feet. I bought my first pair from a discount rack at a local outdoor store, and now that the original pair are growing old, it was time for a replacement. I tend to have moderately narrow feet and these shoes feel great. I would recommend these for anyone with a slighlty narrow foot.
Wears this shoe: Monday through Friday, all work day.

After comparing several shoes and reading the reviews posted, I purchased this shoe because it had every feature I was looking for AND reviews stated that there was no "breaking in" time. This was very important, as I purchased the shoe for a gentleman with disabilities who can't tell me how comfortable or uncomfortable his shoes are. He loves to walk, and he needed a sturdy, comfortable shoe. He is very happy with these shoes and wants to wear them all the time.

This is the second pair of Merrell Outland shoes I have owned. The first has worn great for approximately two years. They still look and feel good.I purchased the second pair to begin using them when my current ones begin to look soiled and worn.

Shoes look great and fit very well. I like the leather all the way up the sides for rugged use, instead of the common nylon mesh on some hikers. Prepare yourself to break-in these shoes. I made the mistake of immediately taking them on a week of walking on rugged terrain and developed blisters on the inner sides of my heals.

Overall very satisfied but the original 14's were on the small side. The replacement 15's are perfect. Either Merrell shrunk thier standard or my foot grew a size at age 39... As always, Shoebuy's return and replacement policy worked like a charm!

I Got the Wrong Color

Something must have happened when, once I had started the check-out process, I changed the color selection. Guess it didn't register because, when the shoes came, they were the original color, not the color I had changed to. I didn't want to go to the trouble of shipping back for exchange, so I just started wearing the shoes. They're fine.

I have bunion problems with both feet.The Merrell Outland is the most comfortable shoe that I have found.I wear them every day all day long with no foot pain. The quality is excellent. I want to dry a different style of Merrell shoes, but the Outland is so comfortable and good looking I will just stay with them.

I work on a farm. I put between 8 and 14 walking miles in a day. These shoes can take it! I bought Merrell's "Pulse" for years. They stopped making it recently and I have tried a few different ones. The other one that seemed the closest was the Merrell "Radius" - but it was no where near as durable (the heel cup started to come through after about 2 weeks).I have to replace shoes frequently - I was pleased with the durability and stability offered by the "Outland" - from the shock absorption to the integrity of the upper.
