I needed waterproof sandals to wear while carrying a shell down to the dock to launch and one that would not slip off when carrying the boat back up the ramp to the storage racks.Flip flops are cheaper and they are waterproof, but I find the thong between my toes uncomfortable and prone to slip off. When walking up a wooden ramp with a racing shell on your shoulder, a stable shoe is much safer.My Hurricane 3's fill the bill very well. For lots of walking, the model with padded straps would be more comfortable, hence the 4 stars rating.

Bought this for my husband;he likes the sandals but not too happy about the lack of half sizes.We ordered the next full size not sure if we should've stuck with the lower full size. But he can live with it.

These are the low end for Teva and do not reflect the quality/craftsmanship of their high end sandals. That said, I think they will last a decent amount of time. My last pair of teva sandals lasted 5.5 years. I trust the brand but I am unsure of this line.

This has been the sixth Teva brand that I have purchased in 15+ years. Solid performance in all types of terrain, wet or dry. I wear them for everything during the summer. I found the best price here at ShoeBuy, even better than Teva's official website. I wish all of the websites that I looked at had more choice in styles for the Hurricane 3, but sizes and styles were all limited or were ridiculously priced. These are the only "shoe" that I wear all summer, as they are very comfortable and extremely reliable.

I bought these sandals to replace my old Tevas which had broken down. I like the straps, on both the old and the new ones. I'm not too fond of the sole on these new ones. The top of the sole is sort of like a tub. When water gets in, it's not getting out. Water would drain off the old ones: they were flat on top. Overall it *seems* as if the quality has gone down with Teva. This is probably due to increased production over the years. When I got my first pair, years ago, you could only find Teva in a couple of stores. Now it seems they are everywhere. Judging by the quality of these Hurricanes, I expect to get two, maybe three years out of them. The old ones lasted for at least five years before they broke.
Wears this shoe: Kayaking, travelling, hanging out.

The only problem is that the sandals run a bit larger than you would expect. Otherwise I've worn them everyday since I received them! This is my first pair and will always keep them on hand. Comfortable! Stylish! Rugged! Great Value!

Since they are only full sizes, I got the next larger size, and they seemed too long, I wore them around the house and they felt pretty good. They are very comfortable. I generally don't wear sandals much, but I find myself wearing these a lot.

Decent sandal for the price. Fairly comfortable, but the straps aren't as easy as some other sandals I've had as far as slipping the sandal on and off. Other than this minor annoyance, I would give a general thumbs up, but I just can't rave about these like some others I've had.
