I use this bag every day for shopping in addition to travel. It is compact, holds the essentials, and is comfortable. The hands free feature is great, and I don't have to be bothered with slipping shoulder bags.

It doesn't hold as much as the description indicates. It is a little clunky and awkward to carry. I will use it again when I travel but will carry fewer things in it.

This is the greatest bag I have ever had. I have one in every color and use them all the time. They are great for shopping as you don't have to worry about setting them down, great for travel as they are secure and for such a small bag I can get everything in it, my wallet, checkbook, camera, cell phone, sun glasses and extras that I need. I would be lost without it.

Great Value

This is a great travel bag. It is light weight and expands for extra room. One of the best features is the adjustable shoulder strap. It always feel safe and secure whether on one shoulder or across the body. I also like the extra pockets and zippers. It makes everything easy to organize. I bought one for a flight to Denver a year ago and have carried it ever since, so as you can guess I now need a new one.

Travelon Messenger Bag

I've been looking for a more compact day bag for traveling. This is it! There are not too many pockets so I'm not searching everywhere for things. I can fit a water bottle, compact camera and then some. It's lightweight. Since it's expandable, it looks more fashionable during evening events when daytime needs are removed.

nice bag but needs to open wider

Good quality leather, the inside lining was kind of cheapish looking though. The expandable zippers should have expanded more when opend. Why go through all the trouble adding zippers that barely let out room? That part disappointed me. Wish the hardware on the shoulder straps wasn't so heavy. Be prepared for a big clunk everytime you set it down on a hardsurface. Other than that I absolutely love it.

Shoulder Bag Evaluation

I bought the bag because I borrowed a Travelon from my sister to use on vacation and it held everything I needed, just as she promised it would. The one I just bought, however, was not leather (it is nylon) and is smaller than the one I used. So, I have to unzipper the expandable sections to allow for the maximum usage and keep its use for more casual days. It's still a comfortable bag to carry on the shoulder with great compartments and I'm glad I have it.

It is very good, but not perfect

Functionally, this bag is very good. The only thing I don't like is that the expandable main compartment does not expand at the top, so it is difficult to put large items inside. It is designed to ride on your right shoulder/left hip, so if this bothers you, find one that can go either way. It is very lightweight and has lots of good compartments. I don't like that the handle only comes in black, although the dark color doesn't show dirt. Overall, it is a very good value for the money.

Bag was very lightweight which was nice. Phone compartment very convenient. Would have preferred if bag opened a little wider. Could barely get my hand in it (and my hands aren't very big). Basically the "expandable" part of the bag would have been easier to use if it "expanded" more.

I bought this because I had a leather one that I wore out. Thought I'd try the microfiber. Wish I had got the leather again. The leather one had more give to it so was easier to fit things in I'll use this one, it just is a bit more trouble to get things in and out of.

Bought this bag to use on my family vacation. I wanted something small, secure, easy to carry, that would hold everything I need in my purse, plus my camera. It was a tall order, and this bag came through! Loved that it was easy to find things inside, and the outside pocket so I could hear when my phone rang. Wish the top opening was also expandable, so I could have gotten a little more into that big inside pocket, but overall I'm very happy.
