It is narrower where my toes touch on the insides of the shoe making it rub. They are uncomfortable to wear and I wish I had not purchsed them and had gone with the slightly more expensive 844. They are a comfortable shoe and seem sturdy. A touch narrow but okay in width. There is a seam that irritates my little toe and therefore I only wear this shoe occasionally. The tongue on the left shoe is at least a quarter inch shorter than the right one so it is difficult to lace it all the way up...I am a bit handicapped and my physical therapist insists that I lace my shoes laced all the way for maximum support. I would also had preferred less cloth material on the tongue and around top as this is difficult to clean and keep them looking good for a longer period of time. I'm glad I took the advice of another reviewer on this one! There are so many choices in "sneakers", but he said to look for one with a roll bar. I bought a pair and wore them out playing tennis, and it served me well. So I bought another pair! Wears this shoe: For playing tennis Reviewer: Margaret from Boca Raton, FL Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width I have been wearing this shoe for a few years since tearing my plantar fascia. The "roll bar" stabilizes the foot and prevents the pronation that can aggravate plantar fasciatis. Stable and comfortable for pronators like me. I alternate between this shoe and the the KSWISS Stabilizer shoe. Whenever I choose a different shoe I end up with ankle problems. I am a 3.5/4.0 player who plays 3-6 times a week. Average court shoe lasts me 6 months max. I never wear out the sole. Just the insides start to feel less supportive and then they become lawn mowing shoes! :-) Wears this shoe: Tennis - hard and clay courts - indoor and outdoor 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful: Reviewer: becky from voorhees,nj Shoe Size: Felt full size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked I like the shoe but this is the first time I had to order a larger and wider shoe since the toe area is so tight. Wears this shoe: only to play tennis Reviewer: Yeehaw from Florida Shoe Size: Felt half size smaller than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width I had a torn plantar fascia a year ago and have been wearing these shoes since I got back to tennis. They have excellent stability and the "roll bar" technology helps prevent pronation. I highly recommend them. As I have found with other New Balance styles, they run a little small and I need a half size larger than I usually wear.
