I like the shoes because they give a soft cushioned walking step. As one grows older they tend to loose the cushioning on the bottom of the foot and these really help make it more comfortable to walk.

Loved the price of these great New Balance walkers. But be aware, the size is not true and my experience was that I needed to order a whole size bigger. Not sure why this is an issue with this shoe, but it is. The other reviewers also note this. I wear a wide shoe and the wide was as advertised.

I have Plantar fascitis, or a weak tendon in my foot by my arch. These shoes with the inserts I get really help my pain to go away and give me the support I need. They fit my narrow feet very well everywhere including around the toe area where often times I find there is too much wiggle room in other models.

I ordered this shoe 1/2 size larger as I always do with New Balance and it fits perfectly. It has a generous toe box which is great if your feet run a little wide but not wide enough for a D width. My heel however is not wide and the heel fits mine very comfortably. I walk 5 or 6 miles a day in this shoe and it felt comfortable from the first day out.

I already owned this shoe and liked it so well I decided to get another pair. I have to wear an insert for a heel spur and these shoes give me great support and are very comfortable. I place my insert under the insole and then have a comfortable, well supported shoe. I do have to order this shoe in a 1/2 size larger than I wear. I have a very narrow foot and the width fits great.

I like everything about the 844 walking shoe. I do a lot of fitness walking (2-3 miles each day), fitness classes and just everyday wear. It holds up very well. I like them so much this is my 2nd pair. I am sure it has helped to keep my joints and feet in very good shape. I can highly recommend them.

This is a great shoe for anyone with weak ankles. It's got some kind of stabilizer and I don't think I could turn my ankle in them if I wanted to.

I buy New Balance because they (at least the one's I buy) are made in America. I buy NB because they come in a Narrow width. I also buy NB because I know how they are going to fit my foot. I have to have an SL-2 last and I know that most NB are going to run at least a half a size smaller than marked. Buying them through Shoebuy.com, I was able to buy this pair at least ten dollars cheaper than anyplace else I looked. Good job!

The New Balance 844 is the best shoe for me. I was measured at a New Balance store a couple of years ago and have found it to be a very comfortable shoe.
